Call for Proposals – Deadline: March 30th
Calling all planners and friends of planning! Please see the 2018 Call for Proposals for a brief overview of the upcoming conference themes and suggested session topics. Please consider putting together a project or panel and help make this a great conference.
Session proposals can be submitted by March 30th, using the Session Submission Form, to:
Have a question? Or have an idea for a session but aren’t sure where to go from there? Please feel free to email Amanda or Jamel!
The conference is already taking shape to be a great event thanks to the planning committee!
KEYNOTE: Dar Williams is the keynote speaker for the conference. She will be highlighting material from her book, What I Found in a Thousand Towns, and sharing some of her music. Read more about Dar Williams.
MAP 50th ANNIVERSARY: This year we are celebrating MAP’s 50th anniversary. Because the NNECAPA conference is in Maine this year, that event will draw the largest number of MAP members and other planners, so we are combining our 50th celebration with the conference. The main anniversary event is planned for Wednesday evening (Oct. 24th) before the start of the conference. Other anniversary-related activities may be woven into the Thursday and Friday program, but given the conference has tri-state attendees, we would keep such activities optional.
POINT LOOKOUT RESERVATIONS: The conference location is a little different than we’ve done before – rather than a downtown location, this site is more of a conference/retreat site, with excellent amenities and lodging. There are several towns very close by which will offer folks good off-site accommodations, but to have the best access we expect people will want to stay on the property. We will be encouraging early reservations--look for more info and pricing soon.
