o Development Transfer Fees – Gorham – Maureen will call Mark Eyerman

t Shorebird, Wading Bird Habitat – Jim will contact DEP, might also check with Madge Baker (MAP Member)

t Affordable Housing – Maureen? Don’t want to write an article just about Cape Elizabeth.  Anne Krieg?  Beth (maybe) companion piece – concept of requiring affordable unit is subdivisions. Next Newsletter.

t Membership – Jim will send a short paragraph with some numbers on membership, renewals and overdue – website, etc.

NNECAPA Grant

t Maureen moves that we commit $1,000 to sponsor the Place Making public meeting Place Making Event. 

o Passed unanimously

o Noel will follow up

t Maureen moves $1,000 for scholarships to attend the event.

o There was a lot of discussion about how these would be offered – complex arrangements

o Motion withdrawn – pending additional information

t Jim reported that the Scenic Viewshed preservation – so far not

t Scenic View shed protection

Membership

• Jim did not receive any new membership applications in recent weeks.
• Maureen requests a short renewal article for the newsletter that includes numbers of members, overdue members, etc.
• Jim will try to send email to past members who are overdue in renewing.

Website

• Jim did not report any major changes – just job and event postings

Display board

• Beth reported on several options for display boards
• Noel suggests purchasing the display board with the improved bag.
• Color – forest green or other dark color
• Beth is empowered to make a selection
• Content
• Logo
• Marketing person at CES may be able to work on this – Noel will get an estimate

Legislative – Policy Committee

• Leadership – Maureen, Beth and Hugh will help to convene this committee
• Committee will start activate in January, but will be communicating in December

• SPO Legislation
• Brookings Report
• CPAC
• Possible participants – Helen Edmunds, Matt Nazar, Beth Della Valle, Maureen O’Meara, Hugh Coxe

Discussion about Board Attendance

• We are barely reaching a quorum
• Is first Friday the best date for meeting?
• Should we lower the quorum requirement
• Tom Marcotte resigned in the last month, lowering the quorum
• Noel can send an email to the board encouraging their participation

Annual Meeting

• June, 2007
• First Friday in June
• Jim will check with Rich about facilities
• Might want a more scenic location – tied to a scenic preservation workshop
