1.         Minutes from April 4, Meeting - Carl

Tabled pending completion of April Minutes

2.         Annual meeting - Maureen
•Separate mailing?
      Maureen proposed to send a separate mailing with the conference registration and membership renewal forms.  All agreed. Rebeccah will be responsible for this mailing.

• Sponsors

Maureen sent a letter to past sponsors.  Some have paid. Others will need to be contacted by phone.  Some members volunteered to

• Awards – Jane is  meeting today with the awards committee.

• Agenda

Beth will not be able to attend the annual meeting

Mac Stocco will speak for Beth on the agenda about the legislative
Beth will find someone from the legislative committee to speak to the bylaw changes if Mac elects not to do speak to that.

• Nominations – Judy Colby-George

Jim – will contact Jack Kartez about student participation.  Coordinate with Jane to see if students can get a free ride for helping with registration.

Maureen will mail the agenda to the list serve and Jim will post it on the web site.

3.         Strategic Plan implementation - Be prepared to vote on funding recommendation to membership.

The committee reviewed thirteen options for spending funds from reserves.

Above the line

• Brochure – expected to be a minor expense
• Website – up to $3,000

Priorities

1. Student Scholarships - <=$1,000
2. State Enabling Legislation - <=$4,000
3. Professional Planner Training -<= $2,000

Motion to adopt these priorities passed without dissent.

4.         Continuing Education - Kat Fuller and Report from AICP CM Committee

• Kat Fuller – concerned with MAP adding a $10.00 dues increase for AICP members.
• Hugh proposed and Steve Condon seconded to rescind the $10 fee on the floor of the annual meeting. The additional AICP fee may be considered at the 2009 Annual Meeting

5.         Website report - Rebeccah, Jim

• Jim suggested that a student be hired to upgrade and update the website.
• Judy and Noel disagreed, proposing to hire a professional website firm to create a site that can be updated relatively easily by others. 
• Judy – proposed to work with Rebeccah to create a request for proposals and send this out for an August board meeting decision.
• Jim will consider maintaining the website until the overhaul occurs. (NB: Jim will do this at least through August.)

6.         Other items from Board members

Kids consortium - Jim Lysen

• No board members volunteered to be on this
• Anne will contact Jim Lysen about the logistics of the meetings.

Friends of Midcoast Maine - LaChance June 10th event sponsorship – Jane LaFleur

• Jane has asked MAP to cosponsor the Friends of Midcoast Maine
• Maureen proposes MAP offer $250 in support – passed without dissent

Geolibrary Board Meeting

• Holding public meetings and are seeking support for statewide parcel standards
• MEGIS does not have funds to do this work now and may approach the legislature about funding

Informed Growth Act

• Stacy noted that MAP is listed as a stakeholder in a policy discussion about implementation or revision of the informed growth management act – specifically an exemption for towns that already have an ordinance for a comprehensive economic impact.  The ad hoc state committee will look at quality of local guidelines. 
• Hugh Coxe volunteered and the board supported Hugh representing MAP in this ad hoc committee.
