NNECAPA Grant – Growth Management
Alternatives
Professional workshop – MAP can fund this out of our regular reserves
Sue Inches proposal – long term
Maureen – concerned about the SPO recommendations
Limited review of future land use
Greater reliance on Regional Councils
SPO report will be accepted by the legislature, but no action is likely to occur this year
Recommendation
Propose that MAP support the growth management proposal by:
Use $3,000 MAP funds and $1,000 NNECAPA funds to hire a coalition builder and fund raising consultant.
t Need six to eight partners to fund a thorough study
t Will want to complete the report by next December
Beth supports the recommendations around regionalism – but only if this effort is funded.
Questions
Don’t think that these are the same thing.
Still need a comprehensive review of the GMA
$3,000 + $1,000 for a fund raiser
$8,000 for the study
$12,000 total commitment
Maureen’s motion as revised by Beth DellaValle.
“MAP commits $3,000 MAP funds and $1,000 NNECAPA grant to hire a coalition building / fund raising consultant to develop support for a Growth Management Study as recommended by Stuart Meck. The study is to be completed by December, 2006.”
Beth’s Amendment – passes with 2 Abstentions
