Treasurer’s Report

Website

Jon Lockman reported that since the new Listservice has been in operation 35 persons have signed up. One does not have to be a member of MAP to be on the Listserve.

Newsletter

Maureen O’Meara reported on the status of the MAP newsletter. She stated that the MAP Newsletter should follow the structure of the NECAPA Newsletter in which a university student is hired to serve as editor and be responsible for the layout but not for writing the articles. The student is also responsible for finding their replacement. Maureen has contacted Mary Coolidge at USM Graduate School about being the Newsletter Editor. She has the computer graphic skills and is willing to do the job. It is anticipated that it will cost $1,000 per year for 4 issues with the first issue to be published in January 2001. It is estimated that production and mailing costs will be $1,000. Maureen and Jack Karfez, USM volunteered to serve as the Editorial Board for the Newsletter. However the Executive Board will still be responsible for labels and maintaining the membership mailing list and providing them to Mary Coolidge.

Motion by Theresa Oleksiw to accept the proposal for the MAP Newsletter as presented by Maureen O’Meara. Seconded by Sarah Flaks. Passed 7-0.

Motion by Jon Lockman that each Executive Board member be responsible to write one newsletter article per year. Seconded by Theresa Oleksiw. Passed 7-0.
