Treasurer's Report - Fred arrived just after the meeting concluded. His report will be taken up at the December 6^th meeting at SPO in Augusts.

Jim Fisher presented the draft survey to be included in the newsletter.

Discussion about the legislative issues included in the survey suggested that we do not know what is coming this year and will have a difficult time getting membership feedback without specific proposals.

Legislative Committee

Matt Nazar reiterated SPO's interest in providing technical support to the legislative committee, but under other leadership and with other speakers.

Additional effort will be needed to identify people for this committee

Next Annual Meeting

There were no suggestions from the floor for alternative meeting sites. Boothbay Harbor remains the location for June, 2003.

Sarah Flaks noted that the Maine Association of Community Development Professionals is going to discuss joining MAP in June provided an appropriate speaker can be identified.

Jim has contacted Richard Florida, but has not received a reply.

Other ideas for speakers included:

Maine Natural Areas Program - Beginning with Habitat

New Governor or SPO Director

Maine Downtown Center

One MAP member suggested that an all day workshop would be worth considering rather than a 2 hour presentation

Entertainment options were also discussed, including boat ride, music and a longer training session.

Decisions were remanded to the MAP board for discussion in December.
