Maine Office of GIS List Server for GIS User’s Group by David Kirouac

The Maine Office of GIS has established a list server for use by the Maine GIS User’s Group. The list server was created so that GIS information can be more easily communicated throughout the Maine GIS community. The list server provides a method of asking questions to a GIS educated audience and, hopefully, receiving educated answers.

The list server will provide a forum for GIS organizations to inform other GIS users of changes to GIS data, the progress of GIS projects, and general assistance. A list server works by setting up a list of all the members’ email addresses. When someone sends email to the list server, that email is sent to all the members of that list server.
