September 4 and 5, 2008 NNECAPA PLANNING FOR THE NET GENERATION

AICP CM Credits Offered

Annual NNECAPA Conference: Woodstock Inn in Woodstock Vermont In twenty years, the last of the baby-boomers will be eligible for retirement, and the Net Generation will be middle-aged. What will their world look like? What will "community" mean in a society influenced by the internet and cell phones? What effect will global warming and the energy situation have on the way people live and get around? How do we engage the
Net Generation in identifying and planning for their needs? What can we learn from educators to help us better engage today's youth in planning for their future? AICP-CM credits will be available for certain sessions.

Conference program and registration information will be provided in the spring. For questions, contact Tara Bamford at Tara@NNEPlanning.us.

PLANNING FOR THE NET GENERATION

In twenty years, the last of the baby-boomers will be eligible for retirement, and the Net Generation will be middle-aged. What will their world look like? What does "community" mean in a society where an increasing amount of social interaction is facilitated by the internet and cell phones? What effect will global warming and the energy situation have on the way people live and get around? How do we engage the Net Generation in identifying and planning for their needs? What can we learn from educators to help us better engage today's
youth in planning for their future?

Help us learn and share ideas on this thought provoking topic at the 2008 NNECAPA conference at the beautiful Woodstock Inn in Woodstock Vermont on September 4 and 5.

If you have an idea and would like to conduct a session please submit a brief description of the proposed topic and brief bio to the conference planning committee c/o Tara Bamford - Tara@NNEPlanning.us by February 29, 2008. Email for information on arranging for AICP CM credits for participants.

If you know of an engaging informative speaker on a related topic, whether in the planning community; or in education, IT, or another related field; or a facilitator with great skills at getting young people involved, please share this announcement with them, or send an email to the committee with your suggestions.
